Century Link, Ma Bell or whatever name they call themselves this week would have rolled out fiber 15 years ago if there was competition. The ONLY reason they are interested is they don’t want to lose customers. I would still be using a 56K…. well OK 300 baud modem without competition. Now if we could get the State of Utah to allow municipalities to build out their own systems or take over systems that don’t seem to be interested in providing service (UTOPIA) we could get reasonably priced fiber.
Perhaps Century link ought to start building out fiber rather than putting extremely expensive ads on TV. After all I am paying for those ads and I really don’t have a choice.
